Saturday, Feb. 17 - Santa Ana
After the canoe trip, we spent the better part of the rest of the day (until 4 pm) at the refuge walking the various paths. We saw many birds today. Here are our "orange" pictures. Birds are: golden fronted woodpecker, green jay, Altamira oriole and clay-colored robin
Clay-colored robin, green sparrow and cardinal
We also saw this bird which is either a bunting or grosbeak (can't tell) and of course, there were butterflies.
Also saw many kiskadees.
Friday, Feb 16 - Edinburg Scenic Wetlands
Yeah! We now Friday comes before Saturday, but we forgot to put these in and well, what's the difference?
We went to the Scenic Wetlands park in Edinburg, and saw a few water birds.
A pair of blue wing teals and a snowy egret...
On the way back from the pond, we startled a bobcat, but we were not fast enough to take a picture.
Other
birds in the trees were an eastern phoebe and a yellow rumped warbler.
