Friday, Sept 07 - Big Drive Day and Au Sable Lighthouse Walk
We drove off the peninsula then east to Munising. Intended to go on the boat ride to Pictured Rocks, but decided against it because of the weather change.
The last picture here is of Munising harbor.
from Munising, drove eats on H58 to H11 and north to look at Castle Rock. It downpoured rain, but we got one picture.
Walk to Au Sable point Lighthouse
Drove H58 to the Pictured Rocks Hurricane Point Campground. Memorable part here was the 1.5 mile one way walk to the Au Sable Point lighthouse along the shore of Lake Superior. It started off nice, but the weather deteriorated as we walked. and the wet rocks were slippery. Passed several shipwrecks along the way.
Did you ever see a beach with thee kinds of rocks? We were in a park where picking them up was illegal. :(
Finally, the lighthouse...
The ranger had a solar powered electric car.
