ZERMATT AND THE MATTERHORN

These pictures we took of our trip to Zermatt and the Matterhorn were so spectacular, that we have decided to give them their own page. The weather was great, and the sky was clear, so we decided to take the train and cable cars (three of them) to the top of Kleiner matterhorn to see Matterhorn. It was so clear we could see the French alps and Mont Blanc on the left and Jungfrau on the right.

Getting there was half the fun. Isn't the scenery something else?

This was a bouquet sitting on the top of a car in a wedding reception.

No, it's not a urinal, but a handwashing machine. We found it in Zermatt in a public toilet. Believe it or not, you put your hand into it, it sprays soap and water on your hands, then pauses for you to wash your hands. A few seconds later, it sprays your hands to rinse them, then the heater comes on to dry them!

These are very ornate wood stoves that were in Maison de Rovereaz, and were used before the central heating was installed.

When spring comes, and it's time to get the cows to higher pasture, they decorate them with flowers (the more flowers, the more milk they produce) and parade them there.
