Tuesday, September 8 - day of rest!
Went to old Florence to Mo's and treated ourselves to slumgullion (clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, with about 5 tablespoons of small boiled shrink on top) and Halibut fish 'n chips. Then for a Mexican Mocha (coffee, milk, chocolate, spices).
When's the last time you saw a Jaguar e-type? in this good condition?
Loved this picture of "whale watching".
Wednesday, September 9 - Stonefield Beach and Cape Perpetua
This is a page from a tide book, which shows that the low tide for Sept 9 morning is 9:38 am. (After our experience with high tide on mid-August 2005 in Alaska, we got much more familiar with tide tables).
We left the campground early to get to the beach we thought best for tide pools - Stonefield beach, just south of Newport. We weren't disappointed.
Here's what we came to:
Looks like a garden....
Anemones, barnacles and mussels.
and many sea stars...
Sea portraits.
AND THE BEST PICTURES ARE ON THE NEXT PAGE...
